April Curtis, this is, as advertised, the first feature length film from EOU. It features some seasoned veterans of the theatre club. Juli Bloodgood plays a nice southern belle, Amanda who, not being able to deal with the peculiarities of her family, becomes overwhlemed by life. Greg Rawlins, of my favorite La Grande rock band
Sons of Guns, plays Tom who is out all every night "at the movies". Chantell Cosner (aka DJ Panda) plays Laura who ditches school to walk around all sorts of places. Jake Kuwihara is Jim, the gentleman caller who is "married". And Matt Bloogood plays the dad who took the light fantastic out of town. The film makes some inventive departures from the standard versions, but the characters are true to form and excellently played.
I was glad to get to spend a lot of time on the set and help out in whatever ways I could, like making the poster. I did not supply Tom with booze ;). They worked super hard on this and overcame some less than ideal circumstances to get it finished at all costs. If you can see it in La Grande on the silver screen, I invite you to do so. Maybe, just maybe there will eventually be a dvd version.
